Date: September 12, 2011 from The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), in the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), invites you to attend a live webcast of the launch of a Consumer Health IT Program to support greater consumer engagement in health and health care via information technology. This is an important event in which representatives from leading private sector organizations and government agencies are highlighting their support for consumers' access to and use of their electronic health information. This event will highlight consumers, providers, and private sector leaders' best practices, and federal efforts to empower consumers to access and use their own health information to become partners in their health. Industry Leader Briefing: Engaging Consumer with HIT |
Date: Friday, September 16, 2011 Industry Leader: Lygeia Ricciardi, Senior Policy Advisor on Consumer eHealth - Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT Description: Goal IV of the ONC Federal Health Information Technology Strategic Plan is to "Empower Individuals with Health IT to Improve their Health and the Health Care System." In pursuit of that goal, Lygeia Ricciardi is spearheading the ONC effort to reach consumers and engage them around the tools and resources available to them through HIT.
